I just graduated from the Master in Digital Media at Georgia Tech. Before coming to the US, I obtained a Chilean Government Scholarship. I also hold a B.A. and Journalism professional degree from the Catholic University of Chile. I had taught and had been making research on new media topics since 2001.

At Georgia Tech

During my two years at Georgia Tech I had focused on the basic theoretical frameworks of interactivity, human computer interaction, and on experimental approaches for television.

  • Manager of the Experimental Television group, directed by Dr. Janet Murray. In 2005 we created in collaboration with American Film Institute's Digital Content Lab and History Channel's World War II series, a prototype to enhance the presentation of historical documentaries on television. The prototype exploits the encyclopedic nature of digital media to deliver multiple human perspectives on the complex events. The World War II Experience assumes a broadband, video-on-demand environment that merges the rich content of television with the interactivity and archiving capabilities of the Internet.

  • Beyond the core courses of the program, I had taken the following ones: Human Computer Interaction and Information Visualization at the College of Computing.

Some of my current relevant projects:

  • Conference Locator
A Google Maps API based prototype application for searching for conferences.

  • Flight Tracker at Atlanta Airport
A Java programmed nice visualization of the arrivals and departures from Atlanta International Airport.

  • Owls and Bats
A game inspired on the great designs of the spanish Kukuxumusu. More projects
